Dr. Steven Luccarelli

Dr. Steven Luccarelli loves his work. With new technology and a new facility, he loves it more now than ever. He has been practicing orthodontics in the East Williston and Mineola area for nearly 30 years. For the past ten years, Dr. Luccarelli has been honored by his peers by being voted Best Dentist through topDentists™ and has been voted as a 2016 Doctor of Distinction from the Long Island Pulse. He has been a clinical professor of orthodontics at Columbia University for the past 30 years and is the director of orthodontics at Winthrop University’s dental residency program. Dr. Luccarelli takes great pride in delivering the highest level of patient care possible, but has always made the commitment to provide it in a warm and caring atmosphere.

His vision of excellent treatment is for his patients to have a beautiful, healthy smile with an experience that is nothing short of exceptional. He wants you to feel at home and feel as though you were treated like family.

Dr. Luccarelli recognizes the importance of staying current with the rapid changes in orthodontics and spends in excess of 100 hours a year on continuing education. He teaches orthodontics at Columbia University and has been a clinical professor there for more than 20 years. He was president of the Columbia Orthodontic Alumni Society in 1991 and is an active member of their executive board.

He is also chairman of the Mid-Nassau Dental Study Club and is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, American Board of Orthodontics, and New York Dental Society. He lectures throughout the country, is a consultant for 3M and Sybron technologies in orthodontic research and development, and has been awarded a patent in orthodontic instrument design.

Dr. Joseph Barrese

PRACTICE
EDUCATION

Dr. Barrese attended New York University College of Dentistry and received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He was inducted into the prestigious honors society known as Omicron Kappa Upsilon and was awarded the Dean Edward G. Kaufman Award for Academic Excellence. While a student, he participated in the Honors in Orthodontics program to gain more experience and education in the field of orthodontics, while serving as President of the NYU Orthodontic Society. Dr. Barrese took great pride in participating in mission trips to Maine and Grenada to provide dental care for underprivileged communities.

After NYU, Dr. Barrese completed his specialty training at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. He earned a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, while also earning another Master’s degree in Oral Biology for his research in virtual planning in oral surgery and orthodontics to correct dentofacial deformities.

In private practice, he enjoys the challenge of treating complicated orthodontic cases requiring adjunct orthognathic surgery, like those with cleft palate, or dentofacial abnormalities.
